See moreFrom the moment their child arrives, parents are raised in the healthcare environment. Science tells us that a new parent’s brain is primed, motivated, and open to change. And with 99% of children born in hospitals each year, 14 primary care visits from birth to age five, and countless sick visits along the way, there is a tremendous opportunity to reach families in their earliest moments.
Years of research now demonstrate that social-emotional-cognitive health is dramatically linked to physical health. Positive parenting behaviors and strong parent-child relationships can provide children with a lifetime of enhanced protection from health challenges such as asthma, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
By targeting healthcare providers, our initiatives have the opportunity to reach the millions of families they serve. Our projects are designed to support healthcare professionals across all disciplines, to strengthen their relationships with families, and deliver high-quality, evidence-based resources on positive parenting.
